Michael, a principal of National Financial Partners (NFP), is a managing partner of NFP Structured Settlements with offices in Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, California and Georgia. One of only 550 Certified Structured Settlement Consultants in the country, Michael has been active in the structure industry since 1991 and has produced over $1.5 Billion in structured settlement annuities in that time. He has been involved in more cases than any other consultant in the country. In addition to managing NFP Structured Settlements, Michael works with plaintiff attorneys and their clients throughout the country presenting structured settlement options and coordinating efforts to ensure that plaintiffs continue to receive all public benefits available.

He is a Past President of the National Structured Settlement Trade Association (NSSTA), where he led the way in changing and strengthening the Structured Settlement Protection Act’s (SSPA) laws in five states, providing more protection for structured settlement recipients. He also manages NDC Advisors (NDC) a trust administration company. Within the past five years, NDC has become one of the largest trust administration companies in the country working exclusively with personal injury clients.

Michael received a Juris Doctor with Honors from the University of Florida College of Law and has been admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar. He graduated Cum Laude from Williams College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. Upon graduation from Williams, Michael was inducted into the Massachusetts College Football Hall of Fame

Michael is married to his law school sweetheart, Amy. Together they have two children, Matthew and Katherine. Michael is an active member of the Board of Directors at St. Andrews School, where both his children attend school.

William S. Goodman Bio
Based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Bill is president and a founder of NFP Structured Settlements and has more than 25 years of structured settlement experience. He received his initial training from the periodic payment department of a major life insurance company, where he learned the industry from the inside out. He has participated in the design, installation and ongoing service of structured settlement benefits for tens of thousands of injured people throughout the country. He has additionally worked on behalf of the industry by lobbying to protect the rights of all parties in the structured settlement process.

Bill assists plaintiffs’ attorneys, property and casualty insurance companies, self-insured corporations and government agencies in utilizing periodic payment products as successful negotiating and funding tools for general liability, workers’ compensation and environmental cases. He has extensive knowledge about complex financing, trusts and the integration of public benefits that are often critical in reaching a settlement.

In addition to his work with NFP, he also manages NDC Advisors (NDC) a trust administration company. He is an active member of the National Structured Settlement Trade Association and is a frequent speaker for numerous trial lawyer associations including the Inner Circle of Advocates.

In 1994, Bill received the designation of Certified Structured Settlement Consultant (CSSC) through the National Structured Settlement Trade Association (NSSTA) and the University of Notre Dame. He graduated from Hamilton College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in government and economics and recently graduated with honors from Champlain College, earning a Master of Science degree in Law.

Mike is chief operating officer and managing director of NFP Structured Settlements and NDC Advisors. In his capacity, Mike will oversee day-to-day operations and help guide new business development and growth opportunities for both organizations.

Active in the insurance industry since the 1990s, Mike began his career at a time when structured settlements were just starting to gain traction. He led Mutual of Omaha’s entry into structured settlements in 1994, and later joined AIG, eventually rising to Vice President, Structured Settlements for AIG Institutional Markets Group. In that role, he had top- and bottom-line responsibility for structured settlements, and oversaw the management of external structured settlement distribution, internal and external clients, business development activities, strategy. He also served as the AIG internal business development contact for all AIG’s Institutional Markets Group’s products.

An industry leader, Mike served two terms on the board of directors of industry association National Structured Settlements Trade Association (NSSTA), and has served on or chaired multiple NSSTA committees, including Executive Oversight, Government Benefits, Marketing, Long Range Planning, Legislative and Regulation, Legal, and Education.

“Woz,” as he’s known to friends, clients, and industry peers alike, earned a bachelor’s degree in business with an emphasis in accounting from the University of Nebraska. He holds a Master of Structured Settlement Consultant (MSSC) designation and a LIMRA Leadership Institute Fellow designation through LIMRA’s Executive Development and Leadership Program, with a capstone at the Executive Education Program of the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

He serves on the board of the Midwest YouCan Foundation, which helps those who suffer the effects of traumatic brain injuries and epilepsy, and is a professional board member of Vistage. He resides with his wife, Meaghen, in Palm Beach County.

Steven is the Managing Partner of the Culver City, California office of NFP Structured Settlements. He has been involved in the structured settlement industry since 1986 and his office has participated in settlements totaling more than $1 billion in the last 5 years alone. Steven’s expertise extends to all issues affecting the settlement of workers’ compensation cases, including Medicare allocations, life care plans, medical cost trends, long term disability and social security, among others.

In addition to his business development and management responsibilities, Steven works with clients throughout the country in an effort to resolve workers’ compensation cases utilizing structured settlements. He also handles personal injury lawsuits, attorney fee structures as well as disability and contract buyouts.

Steven is a frequent speaker for many organizations, including the California Applicants’ Attorney Association (CAAA), and he conducts seminars on the use of settlement annuities in claims resolution and Medicare Set Aside accounts.

Dan D. Vickovic Bio
Based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Dan has spent 20 years in the structured settlement industry and has a total of 40 years of experience in insurance liability claims and litigation. Before joining NFP as a Structured Settlement Consultant, he spent a decade as a Claims Administrator for Westinghouse Electric Corporation’s law and environmental affairs department. In this position, he was responsible for administration of the corporation’s self-insured liability program throughout the United States. Prior to that, he served as Liability Claims Supervisor with Cigna Corporation and held various claims positions with Chubb Insurance Group. .

At NFP, Dan prepares structure proposals, assists with case evaluation, attends mediations and works to manage the entire settlement process for his clients. He focuses on cases involving auto liability, general liability, medical malpractice, workers compensation, product liability, wrongful death, attorney fee structures, minor cases and Medicare Set Asides. .

Dan holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology with a minor in Criminal Justice from Edinboro University. He also holds the designation of Casualty Claims Law Associate (CCLA).

Derrick S. Thomas Bio
A Structured Settlement Consultant in the Boca Raton, Florida office, Derrick specializes in the settlement of cases involving medical malpractice, product liability, catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death, auto liability and traumatic brain injury. He also advises victims of mass tort and workers’ compensation cases in addition to attorneys with attorney fee structuring.

Derrick began his career working as a structured settlement planner with Ringler Associates. Prior to that, he worked in the areas of professional sports, technology and finance.

Derrick is devoted to helping victims rebuild their lives following a personal injury. He firmly believes that positive outcomes arise when both the attorney and claimant are well informed with a strong plan in place to secure the victim’s future.

Derrick is a former Division 1 basketball scholar-athlete who earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications and Applied Technology with a focus in Economics from Drexel University of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Gregg joined NFP’s Culver City, California office in 2009. Before that, he spent 8 years as the Legal Counsel and Director of National Accounts for two of the largest Medicare Set Aside account vendors in the country.

His current responsibilities include designing and presenting structured settlement demands and/or offers, preparing quotes, performing file reviews and interacting with attorneys, examiners, the court and applicants. He additionally attends settlement conferences, mediations, arbitrations and other proceedings designed to resolve cases. Gregg analyzes Medicare Set Aside (MSA) allocations, life care plans, non-Medicare medical expenses and vocational rehabilitation reports for valuation of future medical needs, and handles all necessary functions in finalizing settlement documents.

Gregg is a frequent speaker at local and national seminars on the use of settlement annuities in claims resolution and Medicare Set Aside accounts.

Gregg earned a Juris Doctorate from Loyola Law School and is a member of the State Bar of California. He graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics.

In addition to his 11 years of experience working in property and casualty claims and 17 years of medical malpractice claims experience, he has spent more than 15 years in the structured settlement industry. Prior to joining NFP Structured Settlements, he worked for 8 years with Medical Protective Company in Hudson, Ohio, serving as a Field Claims Manager and as a Territorial Manager covering Texas, Ohio, Illinois, Michigan and Indiana. He has additionally worked for State Auto Insurance as Senior Claims Examiner, and with Allstate Insurance Company in as a Property and Bodily Injury Claims Adjuster.

Jerry’s responsibilities include attending settlement conferences, mediations, arbitrations and other proceedings designed to resolve cases. He additionally designs and presents settlement annuity plans, prepares quotes, handles releases and applications, performs file reviews and interfaces with clients, the court and attorneys. Jerry analyzes life care plans and vocational rehabilitation reports and projects future loss of earnings and lifetime medical awards and judgments, as well as handles all necessary functions in finalizing settlement documents. He also participates in local and national seminars on the use of settlement annuities.

Jerry earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the Ohio State University.

John joined NFP in 2002 and is based in Pittsburgh and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He has more than 32 years of experience in the insurance industry and started his career as a Claim Representative with a major multi-line carrier. He later joined the ninth largest professional liability insurer, assuming various positions before advancing to the position of Vice President of Claims. Most recently, he was a Manager for a state-run professional liability excess insurer for hospitals and physicians. John developed structured settlement programs to assist his staff in settling high-exposure cases.

Based in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania office since 2005, Maggie has learned all aspects of the structured settlement business as she has advanced through the company from receptionist to executive assistant to trust account coordinator and to her current role as a Structured Settlement Consultant.

At NFP, Maggie is responsible for quoting and preparing settlement proposals, conducting extensive life care plan analyses, comparing benefit plans for clients and assisting William Goodman in the day-to-day management of the Pittsburgh office. Currently located in Boca Raton, Florida, Paula Rubinstein is the Florida office manager and a licensed Structured Settlement Consultant with nearly 20 years of experience in the Industry. She began her career in 1997 as an Administrative Assistant and later an Operations Manager for a structured settlement firm in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Today at NFP Structured Settlements, Paula’s responsibilities include facilitating meditations, designing and presenting settlement proposals, interfacing with parties, assisting with case evaluations, and participating in structured settlements seminars, conventions, and related topics.

Located in Tampa, Florida, Ray U. Stoll, CPCU, CSSC, joined NFP in October 2010, and was most recently Managing Partner for Ringler Associates' Tampa office. Until November 2006, he was a shareholder and Vice president for SFA, as well as CEO of Settlement Source, Inc., a private consulting firm operating in Tampa and Washington, DC. Prior to entering the structured settlements industry, he held positions of Regional Claim Manager for The Hartford and Vice President of Claims for Progressive during his 15 years as a casualty claims professional. In 1982, Ray was appointed as a charter panel member of the initial Claim Section Board of the Society of CPCU and served six years in that capacity. He has authored numerous articles and has co-authored two books on structured settlement-related issues, ranging from special needs trusts to life insurance solvency issues.

Ray entered the structured settlement arena on an exclusive basis in 1983, and has been an internationally featured speaker, having served as a speaker for RIMS, CPCU, PIAA and ATLA at their respective national conventions. He is also an active member of the National Structured Settlements Trade Association.

Ray earned the ARM and CPCU designations in 1980 and 1981, respectively, and the Certified Structured Settlement Consultant (CSSC) designation in 1997 from the University of Notre Dame. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from University of North Texas in 1968 before attending the University of Baltimore School of Law from 1968-1971.

He received his initial training from the periodic payment department of a major life insurance company, where he learned the industry from the inside out. He has participated in the design, installation and ongoing service of structured settlement benefits for tens of thousands of injured people throughout the country. He has additionally worked on behalf of the industry by lobbying to protect the rights of all parties in the structured settlement process.

Bill assists plaintiffs’ attorneys, property and casualty insurance companies, self-insured corporations and government agencies in utilizing periodic payment products as successful negotiating and funding tools for general liability, workers’ compensation and environmental cases. He has extensive knowledge about complex financing, trusts and the integration of public benefits that are often critical in reaching a settlement.

In addition to his work with NFP, he also manages NDC Advisors (NDC) a trust administration company. He is an active member of the National Structured Settlement Trade Association and is a frequent speaker for numerous trial lawyer associations including the Inner Circle of Advocates.

In 1994, Bill received the designation of Certified Structured Settlement Consultant (CSSC) through the National Structured Settlement Trade Association (NSSTA) and the University of Notre Dame. He graduated from Hamilton College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in government and economics and recently graduated with honors from Champlain College, earning a Master of Science degree in Law.

Located in Charleston, South Carolina, John Roudebush has been in the insurance industry since 1987 and has specialized in structured settlements since 1990. His insurance background consists of directly handling complex litigated claims in personal and commercial lines. He has extensive structured settlement experience working for both an in-house insurance operation as well as outside independent brokerage firms.

John provides assistance to major casualty carriers, self-insured companies and attorneys in a variety of claims, such as automobile liability, general liability, medical malpractice and workers’ compensation, including Medicare Set Aside accounts. He handles all aspects of the structured settlement process, from the tailoring of a customized financial plan to finalizing settlement documents.

John earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from California State University, Long Beach. He earned the Certified Structured Settlement Consultant (CSSC) designation from the University of Notre Dame in 1997 and holds the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designations from The American College.

Based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Policy Administrator, Teresa LaRoche, joined NFP Structured Settlements in May 2001. Teresa is responsible for reviewing policies and ensuring that all final documents are accurate and fully executed. She then prepares document packages that included policies and all final documents before sending them to all parties involved in each individual case.
